Call For Villages

Villages at ROOTCON are where the community comes alive. These interactive, hands-on spaces are built for hackers, makers, tinkerers, engineers, researchers, and curious minds who want to explore beyond the usual conference experience. It’s where ideas are tested, hardware gets torn apart, code gets broken, tools get built, and knowledge gets shared openly with the community.

From hardware hacking, lockpicking, reverse engineering, AI security, SDR, wireless research, malware analysis, and IoT experimentation to entirely new underground concepts, Villages provide a dedicated environment for learning through doing. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or someone touching a soldering iron or lockpick set for the first time, there’s always something to discover.

Villages are more than just booths or exhibits — they are community-driven hacker playgrounds. Expect live demos, mini workshops, capture-the-flag challenges, competitions, collaborative projects, and spontaneous conversations with people who share the same passion for curiosity and exploration.

Current Villages at ROOTCON include:

- Hardware Hacking Village
- Car Hacking Village
- Bug Bounty Village
- Cellular Assault Village
- Red Team Village
- Lockpick Village

We are also actively looking for new Villages and communities focused on but not limited to:

- IoT Security & Embedded Systems
- ICS / SCADA Security
- AI & LLM Security
- SDR / RF Hacking
- Wireless & Wi-Fi Security
- Biohacking & Experimental Tech

Have a crazy idea for a Village? Want to run workshops, competitions, live demos, or build an immersive hacker experience? ROOTCON is the place to bring it to life. We welcome new concepts, experimental setups, niche communities, and unconventional ideas that push the boundaries of creativity, technology, and hacking culture.

Build it. Break it. Share it. Welcome to the Villages of ROOTCON.
